Right click the Normal style in the Quick Styles group and select 'modify' Make whatever changes you wish and before leaving the dialog, check the 'New documents based on this template' check box. It is akin to what you had to do with a typewriter. Using the Enter key as you suggest to create a space is what is ridiculous. I have also tried using the "Styles" format settings, and the "Update Normal to Match Selection".įinally, I found a Microsoft Fix-It tool that purported to permanently fix this, but it only works for Word 2007, not Word 2010.įormat the paragraph in the style so that it does not have space before or after it.
